Coming Together
When the two shall become one.
Symptoms:
The horse do not listen, stress occurs and it seems impossible for the horse to stand still in various situations.
Mounting can sometimes be difficult, almost impossible, and just before you land in the saddle horse beep away.
Other possible symptoms are that you're saying right, but the horse goes left. This is a case in point some days where nothing works!
In some cases, these symptoms become automatic behaviors in your dealings with the horse and it feels like a negative circle. We know what we have to expect the next time with this horse.
Reason:
The fusion between horse and rider have not succeeded. The two have not become one.
Collaboration is about right, doing things together - the horse will follow you as you feel that you are doing everything at once.
You as a human being should be the leader, the horse will follow you, if not,you follow the horse.
This may be consciously or unconsciously, but is observed immediately in your relationship. The horse really wants nothing more than for you to lead it, but in case you are unsure or in any case shows uncertain behavior, the horse will immediately transfer this, and instinctively save himself.
Leadership is not about violence but about boundaries and consistent action.
Solution:
Be prepared to give in! Not for the horse but for your own frames. Relax, be flexible in body and mind, breathe, become softer, but for that matter do any kind of compromise your limits and consistent action!
Before you do anything else, becoming one with the horse. Breathe together, put your hands on the side of the horse, let your breath, drop to a lower pace, a gentler rhythm. Feel how good it is when the horse follow your example, you may soon see the horse's reactions! Hanging head, yawning, eye rolling and snorting. Just stand still and enjoy the fusion.
When breathing is in tune, you can start preparing the horse for a day's work. Do it all at the same pace and rhythm that you reached with the beautiful breath.
Should the horse react by starting to move away or show any other kind of stress, to wait with your actions and just stand still, let the horse have a chance to float into the calm again. Welcome to the horse with your calm breathing!
When the horse is saddled, and it is time to sit up, remember the feeling of bonding!
Walk the horse, let the horse have a chance to fall into your walking-rhythm, breathing together and make sure the horse follows you, not vice versa. Stop a few times to see if the horse is with you, when it feels like the best is the time to sit up.
Do the horse easily return to the stress? Review your own stress management. Everyone can calm a horse with his own inner peace, you just have to enjoy it and share it.
Good luck!
